“Wanted” – The Desires of Our Heart

Tomorrow morning in FUEL I’ll be presenting part 2 of the series “Wanted” – speaking about the desires in our lives.

Psalm 37:4 (NIV) says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

My opening thought is this…

“What you think you want/desire, isn’t what you really want/desire.”

If we pull back the curtain of our lives and look deep down into our souls… we all desire the same 4 things

1. Experience Intimacy/Love
2. To be valued
3. To have purpose
4. To live an adventure

Everything that we “want/desire” in some way or another is really trying to fulfill one of these deep down heart desires.

We constantly try to fulfill/satisfy our heart desires (spiritual desires) with things the flesh desires (physical desires). All these other things (false desires) are invitations, to buy artificial copies of those 4 core desires.

When in reality,God is the only one who can truly satisfy forever those heart desires.
